Our time in Bujumbura gave us a chance to take a break from touristing and just relax! Our friend, Melanie, made sure to schedule in pool and nap time! She is also the queen of sunset cocktails - she knew the best (and probably only) rooftop bars with a view and we saw amazing sunsets each night over cocktails! We also spent time catching up - she likes to ask about the kiddos which then leads to interesting discussions. And we can always brainstorm future reunions around the globe!Image
It was truly great to slow down and relax! Just walking around the grounds of her house in Bujumbura was fascinating - one of the afternoons, I meandered through the garden with an app that identified different flowers and plants 
Jason had no trouble napping poolside, as well as floating in the pool, and anywhere he could! Melanie knows us well
