Warthogs
? Warthogs! Love, love, love these peculiar creatures ? Disney nailed the warthog with Pumba - truly! They were so fun to spot during the game drives - and they were plentiful! We first saw them in the parking lot for Nairobi National Park, so were able to get up close right away.
 
 
 
We learned a lot about warthogs from our guide, Kifa, in the Mara - he'd exclaim "there's another Pumba"! We mostly caught warthogs running away as the vehicle stopping would scare them...then if we just waited the warthogs would stop about 30 ft later, look around, and forget what they were running from so just get back to feeding on the short grasses.
 
We didn't see Timon (meerkat), but we did get a glimpse of some mongoose - which is a similar animal to the meerkat. The meerkat is one of the shy five in the savanna which means they are hard to see on the game drives.
