Looking for an apt in Anchorage

So, we thought we had simple expectations....within walking/biking distance of downtown and room for guests...boy is the Anchorage rental market strange!  Craigslist was our friend (and still is as we furnish the apt now), but the neighborhoods in Anchorage are unpredictable - you can't really say this part of town is like...anything - it's all mixed up everywhere.  We also quickly learned the rental market is more pricey than we expected.  However, with some help from new friends, we hit the streets and looked at many different options.  It really only took about a week, but it seemed like forever.  We narrowed it down to a few options....weighed to pros and cons of each... and decided on one that we now live in.  The funny thing was...our move in date was the evening of 5/31 and left at 6am on 6/1 for a week long conference in CO - so Jason was stuck at home alone for a week in our new place.  Check out some pictures here:  click here for online album - I've been slowly making it our home and we are looking forward to visitors!
