Jason woke up smiling on Saturday because he knew he would get to wear a skirt without heels today - time to suit up for the AK Highland Games! 

It started raining on our way to Eagle River (about 10  min from Anchorage), but that's typical Scotland weather so it didn't stop us.  Jason certainly didn't look out of place, and we had fun looking around at the different booths while we waited for the games to start.  He found the Clan MacDonald tent and made some connections there.  We bought an awesome piece of mosaic art from a local artist.  Then we hit the pub tent.  Check out some images of our fun:  Click here for online album

Well, if you looked at the photos, you saw that Jason got roped into the tug-o-war competition with the rugby team sponsored by an Irish pub in downtown Anchorage.  He got a workout and they didn't get last place.  Then we enjoyed watching the caber toss competition - who doesn't love watching men in kilts throw telephone poles? 

All in all, it was a great day!  We think we know who to contact to get back into Scottish Country Dancing, so we are excited about that.  We headed home ready for a nap, then off to a salmon bbq with people from the Dispatch (Jason's work)...
